Were you a fan of the Domaine LaFage Miraflors or Tessellae? Well, we have a third Côtes du Roussillon to round out the triumvirate. From the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, this Roussillon is deep color with aromas of intense red fruits. Refreshing finale with soft and fine tannins. Extremely easy to drink despite it’s richness and complexity.
Côtes du Roussillon Rouge
Roussillon has more old-vine stock than anywhere else in France. Walden’s secret is concentrated, intensely flavored fruit from these ancient vines coupled with modern winemaking techniques that preserve the fruit while mitigating tannins.
Walden, is a project of Clos de Fees’ Hervé Bizeul in collaboration with small family vintners. It is designed to affordably showcase the potential of Roussillon’s old Carignan and Grenache vines. They created an intermediary solution between a ‘cooperative’, wine merchant and private domain to help support local vine-growers and make fair trade possible for small producers. The partners collaborating in the alliance all have a strong cultural know-how and undeniable passion for their craft.
